Monoprinting is a fun and creative way to make one-of-a-kind prints! Unlike traditional printmaking, where you can make multiple copies of the same design, monoprinting creates a unique image every time.
It works by rolling ink or paint onto a smooth surface (like a printing plate), then adding textures, patterns, or even hand-drawn designs. Once the image is ready, you press paper onto the surface to transfer the design—kind of like a fancy stamp, but with endless possibilities!
Since no two prints are exactly alike, monoprinting is a great way to experiment and play with colors, layers, and textures. If you love creating art but don’t like strict rules, monoprinting is for you!
Explore the creative possibilities of monoprinting in this hands-on Monoprinting workshop with artist Alan Kempkes. Using the Cater-Tullis Monopress, you’ll experiment with color, texture, and composition to create one-of-a-kind prints. This process is perfect for artists of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced creators looking for a fresh approach to printmaking.
